Local State of Emergency

City of Calgary Declares State of Local Emergency

At 8 a.m, June 15, The City of Calgary declared a State of Local Emergency as it deals with a water feeder main break impacting the City’s water supply.

This decision was made to ensure we are prepared for all eventualities as we do water restoration work, and are able to swiftly access sites that are necessary to perform repairs.

We are actively working with the provincial government and the private sector to ensure we have all hands on deck with full exchange of ideas and expertise.

A State of Local Emergency allows for greater coordination of action, and is an indication of the aggressive approach The City is taking to restore full water service for all customers as soon as humanly possible.

Conserving water for Calgarians remains of utmost importance.
