Stories for You
The City is making progress on urgent repairs to the Bearspaw South Feeder Main, with some sites ahead of schedule. This phase of repair work is expected to be completed by the end of September.
Recent water usage has remained under the targeted 485 million litres, which puts us in the green zone where we can operate the Glenmore Treatment Plant sustainably without strain. Thank you to everyone—Calgarians, businesses and our regional neighbours—for your collective efforts to save water, it is truly making a difference.
Minister Devin Dreeshen and the governing UCP have withdrawn their funding for the Green Line, putting thousands of Calgarian jobs at risk, jeopardizing hundreds of millions of public dollars, and most importantly, denying Calgarians a city-shaping transit system.
Calgary is experiencing an astonishing population growth rate of six per cent. This means an additional 96,000 Calgarians per year trying to get around the city, trying to find housing, and trying to access services. If we do not build the Green Line and invest in our transit system, we are facing longer commutes and more frequent traffic jams. Click here to read more.
Your voice matters. Your feedback and the feedback of your neighbours is needed to help shape how your community and the surrounding area evolves over the next 30 years.
There will be opportunities to get involved in each phase as the West Elbow Communities Local Area Plan is created and refined.
Provide Your Input!
Please note this engagement opportunity will close on September 30, 2024.
The City of Calgary and the University of Calgary are collaborating on a multi-year study of Calgary's short-term rental (STR) market through the Urban Alliance partnership. Our goals are to gain an in-depth understanding of Calgary’s STR market and the challenges and opportunities it presents, and to use this knowledge to recommend an updated regulatory approach for STRs that:
