Water conservation still of critical importance

Water usage hit a concerning high yesterday, Thursday June 27. Until service is restored, it's important that we reduce our water usage wherever possible. We need this capacity to make sure we can fight fires and provide water access to hospitals.
Water conservation by Calgarians was vital to the Calgary Fire Department's efforts in fighting a fire in McKenzie Towne this past Sunday.
"Much of that safety to our firefighters and safety to the people that we were evacuating should be attributed to the people who are saving water for us to do our job."
Deb Bergeson, Deputy Chief, Calgary Fire Department
We need to reduce our water usage. Please take whatever conservation measures are available to you for this final phase. Thank you for your continued efforts.
Residential river water pick up

Calgary residents who were unable to collect rainwater and are looking for non-potable water sources now have river water available for pick up. The complimentary river water available to Calgarians can be used to water garden vegetables, flowers, outdoor and indoor plants.
Canada Day

On July 1, celebrate Canada Day downtown with friends and family. Enjoy a day of free lively performances and activities that highlight our country’s diversity, like an Indigenous showcase and powwow, live music, cultural performances, food trucks and more. End the day with a spectacular fireworks show above Stampede Park shortly after 11 p.m.
All our programming is being weighed with the impact of water use and risk of fire being top of mind.
